His remarks emphasised the Government’s commitment to engaging youth across provinces and promoting inclusive development.
“Allow me to thank you, Your Excellency, for gracing our event,” Minister Machakaire began, acknowledging President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s presence.
He highlighted the importance of the forums, stating, “These are meant to reach out to the youth in provinces with empowerment messages in the spirit of inclusivity.”
The minister noted that the forums showcase various employment opportunities tailored to local needs, encouraging young people to recognize and take advantage of government initiatives aimed at their development. “The youth should realise that opportunities provided by the government are there for all to benefit,” he said.
Minister Machakaire urged the youth to remain focused and steer clear of activities that hinder their progress, such as drug and substance abuse.
He underscored the importance of modernising vocational facilities to meet the demands of today’s global markets.
“We are modernising our facilities so that they meet the demands of today’s global markets,” said Minister Machakaire.
In a significant development, the minister announced the distribution of 53 motorbikes, which will be handed over to youth ward coordinators across the province to facilitate their engagement in community development initiatives.
“Let us continue working together,” he encouraged, “and we want to teach our youth to be disciplined, to be hardworking, and to be respectful.”
The Youth Empowerment Forum at MVTC is part of a broader strategy by the Ministry to empower young people in Zimbabwe, equipping them with the skills and resources necessary to thrive in a competitive environment.
As the Government continues to invest in youth development, such initiatives are crucial for fostering a generation capable of driving economic growth and sustainable development.
