Minister of health Dr Mombeshora celebrates media’s role in HIV/AIDS awareness

TODAY, the Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr Douglas Mombeshora, officiated at the National AIDS Council Media Awards Ceremony at Cresta Lodge Msasa, Harare.

In his address, Dr Mombeshora emphasised the significant role the media has played since the first reported case of HIV and AIDS in 1985.

He acknowledged the media’s contributions to raising awareness about evolving trends, behaviours, myths, misconceptions, and perceptions surrounding HIV and AIDS among the public.

This recognition highlights the critical partnership between health authorities and the media in combating stigma and promoting informed discussions about HIV/AIDS.
