THE Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is working on developing an ECD module for the Tjwao language spoken by the San community.

In a post, the Ministry said this is a significant step towards ensuring the language, which is officially recognised by the Constitution, is taught in schools.

“Our technical team was in Tsholotsho last week working with Tjwao speakers to ensure accuracy in translations. This endeavour culminated in the production of a booklet with common Tjwao words and phrases which would be used to develop the module.”

The Ministry said a copy of the completed booklet was officially handed over to the San community at a ceremony held at Mtshina Primary School.

“Chief Goledema received the booklet on behalf of his people. The Chief paid tribute to the Ministry for such the initiative.”
