THE 2017 Midlands State University (MSU) graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday following its postponement last week.

The graduation ceremony was moved when the Zimbabwe Defence Forces launched Operation Restore Legacy, a development that saw former president and former Chancellor of State Universities, Cde Robert Mugabe resigning at a time when the ceremony was supposed to take place.

In a notice yesterday, MSU said the graduation ceremony will be held at the institution’s main campus in Senga, Gweru.

“Midlands State University wishes to advise its valued stakeholders and graduands that the 2017 graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday at the Gweru Main Campus,” said the university.

“Graduands and guests are required to be seated by 8am.”

The university said graduands and guests’ invitation cards were ready for collection at Gweru Main Campus from respective faculty offices.

“Graduands are encouraged to collect their invitation cards at the Gweru Main Campus from their respective Faculty Offices. Those who are unable to collect their invitation cards by Thursday 30 November can collect them on the day of rehearsals which is Friday December 1. Rehearsals will commence at 2PM at the Gweru Main Campus. Please note, all graduands are strongly encouraged to attend the rehearsals in order to participate in the ceremony.”

Meanwhile, Gweru mayor Councillor Charles Chikozho said the resurfacing of Senga round about turn-off road, which ends at MSU main campus gate in preparation for the graduation ceremony had been completed.
