Up-and-coming gospel musician Natsisai Taaliah Mudzamiri launched her debut album ‘Spirit of the Lord’ at Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Hall last Saturday in Bulawayo.

The launch included an auction that saw one copy go for $200. Those who want the CD can grab a copy for $1 at Eagle Life Assembly Church in the city.

Scores of church members graced the venue in support of one of their own who was ably supported by controversial gospel muso Fungisai Zvakavapano- Mashavave.

‘Taaliah’ took to the stage after Fungisai and wowed the crowd leaving many convinced that she is worth supporting. Her onstage debut began with a rendition of the track Mwari Wemasimba Ose which got Prophet Blessing Chiza onto his feet and joined the crowd in worship.

Mudzamiri followed up with the track Haakusiye wega closing the show with the track – Glory to Glory.

The up-and-coming gospel artiste paid tribute to her idol, Fungisai. “I feel honoured and inspired by your presence sis Fungisai. Thanks for the tips and advice and these are the results,” she said.

Mudzamiri revealed that she has already started working on a video of the album which is set to be released in December.

The man who ‘discovered’ her talent, Prophet Chiza said:

“I’m happy that you obliged the prophecy. She worked in our cleaning department, but during one of the church services, God spoke to me and told me about her talent as a singer. In the prophesy I saw a number of albums that she is yet to produce. Let me quickly say if she adheres to God’s commandments, she has what it takes to become be a great musician and a great influence too in the society.”

Meanwhile, the guest artist and Mudzamiri’s mentor, Fungisai put up an inspired performance. Despite her controversial revelation about secular music, Eagle Life Church members and other invited guests seemed to be enjoying her set and even sang along to her hit –Ndokubasa Kwenyu. Her band members skilfully supported her with their exquisite dance skills and melodious vocals putting colour to her singing.
