THE Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is commissioning classroom blocks at three schools in Bulawayo’s Cowdray Park suburb today.

New classroom blocks were constructed at Mkhithika Thebe Primary School, Cowdray Park Primary, and Cowdray School High School.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister Torerai Moyo Bulawayo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Judith Ncube, officials from the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works and the Bulawayo City Council are in attendance.

The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints is the development partner that is financing the construction of additional schools in Cowdray Park.

The classroom blocks to be commissioned include the Science Laboratory, Food Technology and Design, Textile Technology and Design Specialist Classrooms.

The Government has said to address the schools’ deficit, it will leverage on public private-public partnerships.

The country has a shortage of 2 800 schools.
