Insimbi ZeZhwane’s first full album in its new era is out, raising excitement and answering questions among fans while perhaps sparking some new ones.

The album launched successfully on Saturday in South Africa, selling over 550 copies on its first day, according to the band’s management.

With the death of lead vocalist Elvis “Ma Eli” Mathe, many wondered who would lead the vocals. Ergan “Magic Fingers” Mathe, who previously played lead and rhythm guitar, has taken on the role, leading most of the songs on the album. Frank “High Tower” Masuku, a natural choice for main vocals, is steadily mastering the group’s signature style, giving fans much to look forward to in future releases.

Despite concerns over a potential shift in Insimbi’s unique sound, the band has retained its distinct style, with compositions that stay true to the essence fans cherish.

While some listeners continue to voice concerns about the band’s audio clarity – an issue present even in Ma Eli’s time – this has not deterred Insimbi ZeZhwane’s loyal supporters. The group’s live shows remain packed, testament to the unwavering fan base that has embraced the new era with enthusiasm.

“The launch was phenomenal, with unmatched attendance and record sales of over 550 copies on the first day,” said band manager Bahlanu “SaGqumo” Sibanda.
“Our fans have embraced the new vocalists, noting improvement in the vocals. They are thrilled with the latest album, and sales have been outstanding.”

The band will continue its album launch tour this weekend with a performance at Palace Hotel in Bulawayo, where they will reunite with local fans. The event promises to be an explosive celebration with performances by fan-favourites Godolude and Eze Energy, both known for their high-energy acts.

However, as the headline act, Insimbi ZeZhwane, led by Meluleki “Brema” Moyo, will be determined to deliver a show that lives up to expectations.
“We’re excited to bring the new album to Bulawayo, our home ground,” said Brema.

“Palace Hotel is where our fans know us best, and we invite everyone to come out, experience the new music, and buy the band’s merchandise.”
