AFROBEATS-DANCEHALL musical star Nutty O (born Simbarashe Chiwadzwa) is set to release a new single titled “Jegera” this Friday. The track, featuring fellow dancehall artistes Freeman HKD and Master H, is an empowering anthem that reflects Nutty O’s journey and inspires listeners to persevere through adversity.

He told Chronicle Showbiz that the single is his struggle song.

“The song signifies a persevering stage in my life, career, as well as the listeners’. I have a lot of things I seek to achieve with my music which include global dominance, impacting the masses globally, and taking the Zimbabwean unique flavour to the world. But sometimes, it doesn’t happen quickly when we want, hence the need to be persistent, persevere, and believe it will happen while we work still pushing one day at a time,” he explained.

“I chose to collaborate with two of the best dancehall artistes in the country (Master H and Freeman HKD) who will captivate the listeners too, because it’s a beacon of unity, showing the world that we can tackle the scene together, and send the Zimbabwean flavour ablaze with collaborative efforts.”

The uplifting melody and powerful lyrics of “Jegera”, which means “hold on” in the local language, are sure to resonate with fans around the world.

To support the release, Nutty O is launching an extensive promotional campaign that includes a coordinated street team effort across the country, radio and TV appearances, and a robust social media strategy. The “Handipere power” hit-maker is also gearing up for an international tour that will take him across Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the UK, allowing him to connect with his rapidly growing fanbase.

His manager, Diana Nheera praised the piece saying, “To say this anthem is wholesome is an understatement. This is my new soundtrack to life itself #Jegera.”
