Paramount Garments Under-20 Rugby Premier League fixtures on National Youth Day

A TOTAL of seven matches will be played today in the Paramount Garments Under-20 Rugby Premier League at Old Hararians in the capital city on National Youth Day.

The matches will be kick started by two women’s round three games and followed by a single round five division match before a total of five premiership matches get off. The premiership will be going for round six of fixtures.

A women’s encounter between Hatcliffe and Zimbiru, which was postponed on Saturday will be the day’s opening game followed by another one which was deferred, Old Georgians Pitbulls and Harare Sports Club. Another encounter which did not take place in the previous round of games was the Division One encounter between Marondera and Southern City which will be Tuesday’s third clash.

In the premiership, FS Raiders will play against Horns which will be the last match before lunch and will be followed by the clash between Northern Chiefs and log leaders Pitbulls while fourth placed Old Georgians will play against Zimbiru.

The last match of the day will be between second placed Old Hararians and third placed Harare Sports Club in what promises to be a great encounter.

In the log standings, Pitbulls in pole position have 25 points, separated by a superior point’s difference with second placed Old Hararians who have the same number of points. In third place, Harare Sports Club have 16 points while Georgians are on 15 and Northern Chiefs on 10 in fifth place. Zimbiru are on six points followed by FS Raiders on five and Horns on zero to make up the premiership standings.

The last round of premiership fixtures Old Hararians thump Horns 54-8, FS Raiders winning 31-14 against Zimburu and Old Georgians registering a 43-8 win over Northern Chiefs. Pitbulls edged Harare Sports Club 27-24 in the last match of round five. – @brandon_malvin
