Over the past year, Pastor Barak has become a household name across Zimbabwe, earning national recognition at the inaugural Zimbabwe Gospel Music Awards (ZGMA).

His hit song, No Hunger, has secured a nomination in the highly competitive Best Song category, which features 16 artistes. This category highlights the ZGMA’s goal of uplifting Zimbabwe’s gospel music industry.

Pastor Barak faces stiff competition from seasoned and emerging gospel stars, including Dorcas Moyo, Minister Mahendere, Mambo Dhuterere, Peace Gospel Singers, Tafadzwa Vandirai, Purple Pride Family, Rumbie Zvirikuzhe, Roe Makawa, Collen Chimuka, Minister Thandazani, Prince Chigwida, Admire Nago, Nyasha Mutonhori, Ziggie The Crusader, Ruth Chiyevo, and Liberty Phiri.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for December 8 at Casino Marina, Longcheng Plaza in Harare.

Speaking about the recognition, Pastor Barak, a prominent figure in Bulawayo’s gospel music scene, expressed his excitement and gratitude.
“This is an incredible and unexpected experience for me to be recognised alongside these Zimbabwe Gospel Music Awards giants. Last year, I was surprised to be nominated at the Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA), and now this takes it to a whole new level. It’s encouraging to see my work being acknowledged nationwide,” said Pastor Barak.

He added, “Being a nominee is already a milestone for me. It shows that my art resonates with people and is being appreciated. I hope to win this award and make my supporters proud.”
