Pre-Independence weekend entertainment round-up

IT is just days before the country celebrates 42 years of independence and sovereignty and already, the festive mood is in the air with quite a number of shows lined up, building up to the main celebrations slated for Barbourfields Stadium on Monday.

This year’s celebrations will be held under the theme “Zimbabwe at 42 – Leaving no one and no place behind.”

Today is Good Friday and at Club Hashtag, DJ Sweeto, Ash T, Bryce, DJ Klasiq, DJ Brooklyn, DJ Carlie and DJ Nero will be the main attractions for the event dubbed “Good Friday Party”.

Parkview Bar and Grill, formerly-known as The Hub establishment, will host South African artiste Mlindo The Vocalist for the “Pre-Independence Day Celebrations” and DJs Mzoe, Prince Eskhosini, Zetfaktor as well as Kead Wikead will warm up the crowd for the Amablesser hit-maker.

The Amapiano genre will not be left behind as host, radio personality Khekhe will be at Walkers Pub and Grill in the City Centre together with DJ Dosto and Toxic Chemicals.

Daliwonga

At Eyardini, it will be a “Monate Friday with Daliwonga” affair as the Tester singer will perform in the city for the very first time.

Warming the crowd before the main act will be Reno Lyf, Mufali, Slimzar, DJ Liz, Yenza, Ash T, Wellynoz, Deeper Mr Stripes and Mlungu Omnyama.

The festivities will continue right through to Easter Sunday where the Yanos Festival will host its Grand Finale at Beresford close to Killarney and on the decks will be Wellyonz, Mufali, DJ FiFi, La Soul, Ble and Jay Jones.

On the same day, the Dalom Kids trio will be launching their album titled Forgiveness at Umguza Yacht Club where Ndebele rockstar Babongile Sikhonjwa and DJs Keitho and Uegy will entertain revellers.
