President Mnangagwa arrives in Baku for COP29, Engaging in Global Climate Dialogue

Baku, Azerbaijan – President Emmerson Mnangagwa arrived in Baku this afternoon to participate in the 29th Conference of Parties (COP29), which convenes nations committed to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The conference aims to address pressing climate issues, promote sustainable development, and enhance international cooperation in mitigating climate change impacts.
This year’s COP29 is particularly significant as countries face escalating environmental challenges and the urgent need for collective action. President Mnangagwa’s attendance underscores Zimbabwe’s commitment to global climate initiatives and its efforts to tackle local environmental issues exacerbated by climate change.
Accompanying the president is a delegation of key Government officials and experts who will engage in discussions and negotiations aimed at fostering partnerships and securing climate finance to support Zimbabwe’s sustainability goals.
