Harare, Zimbabwe – IN a powerful speech delivered at the Presidential National Prayer Breakfast held at the State House in Harare Wednesday morning, President Emmerson Mnangagwa emphasised the importance of divine guidance and blessings for Zimbabwe.
The event, attended by prominent religious leaders such as Reverend Andrew Wutawunashe, Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi, and Bishop Edmore Chihota, provided a platform for the President to reaffirm the Government’s commitment to being “guided by Almighty God and anchored on the principles of His Word.”
President Mnangagwa recognised the challenges faced by the nation, including the impact of illegal sanctions and climate change-induced droughts, but expressed gratitude for the blessings and provisions from God. He highlighted the country’s achievements in infrastructure development, economic transformation, and fostering national unity, all of which he attributed to divine wisdom and guidance.
Urging the nation to “pray without ceasing” and give thanks to the Lord, the President called upon the church and all Zimbabweans to support the Government’s efforts in hosting the upcoming 44th Ordinary Session of the Sadc Summit of Heads of State and Government.
He expressed confidence that with God’s grace, Zimbabwe will successfully lead the regional body and serve the collective interests of the Sadc region.
The President’s speech resonated with the religious leaders in attendance, who joined him in making declarations based on biblical verses, seeking God’s blessings and protection over Zimbabwe and the Sadc region.
