Organisers of the Zim Hip Hop Awards recently announced nominees for this year’s edition and among them was Indigo Saint who was nominated in three categories.

The rapper from Bulawayo whose real name is Mzwakhiwe Ngwenya is a serial award-winner with three Zim Hip Hop Awards on his CV and feels this year’s edition will be the biggest for him. This is because complementary to his “Sweet 16 Award” for The Best Hip Hop Verse, Hip Hop Personality Of The Year and the People’s Choice Award nominations, a further three nominations were amassed by his Cottage 47.

Cottage 47, a digital media hub for creatives that promotes the hip-hop genre was nominated for a trifecta of awards which include Best Hip Hop Group/Duo, Best Brand Supporting Local Hip Hop and the Best Promoter Award.

“I’m really proud of the work my team and I have put in this year. Cottage 47 is nominated for three awards, so, in total, it’s six nominations for us. The nominations are great because it’s always good to be noticed,” Indigo Saint said.
The awards are set to take place at the Bulawayo Theatre next week Saturday.

Before the awards ceremony, the Vibrations singer will on Sunday perform at the Dejavu Hangout, a fashion show designed to celebrate a local designer — Sakhumuzi Moyo’s clothing brand.

“I’m really excited for the Deja Vu Hangout. It’s great what a young entrepreneur like Sakhumuzi Allen Moyo is doing this for the local community at large.

“It goes to show how much we can achieve as young people with a little bit of unity and a whole lot of bravery to see our ideas through,” Indigo Saint said while hinting that 2022 is going to be a progressive year for artistes in the city if they manage to finish this year strong. – @eMKlass_49.
