A new kid on the block, Rockie DoUb (born Warren Nigel Moyo) who has become the talk of town following the release of his latest single

My Shine, is trying to ensure the city’s hip-hop scene remains vibrant.

After many had begun to lose hope in the growth of the genre following the death of Cal Vin who was touted as one of the best rappers in the country, Rockie DoUb has come through to ensure that does not happen.

So good is his latest track that it has been endorsed by fellow artistes who are promoting it on various media platforms using the #HipHopCapital hashtag.

Hailing from Nketa, Rockie DoUb has promised fans more fireworks as he is a man on a mission to penetrate the hip-hop scene.

My Shine, a song that was taken off his upcoming second album eMoyo was released on Friday.

“The single released last Friday narrates my murky and dim journey in the music scene. On the song, I showed off my sharp and smooth flow over a rhythmic sound. The chorus ‘I know they thought, but no, they can’t stop my shine’ simply compliments how I always rise above societal expectations and hindrances,” said Rockie DoUb.

He said following the positive response that the album’s teaser has received, he has begun finalising the launch of eMoyo as he moves in to become one of the sought-after artistes in the city and countrywide.

“eMoyo is a body of work that entails songs such as Roll, Mangingene, Endleleni and the recently released My shine. I hope to release the album later in the year,” he said.

Rockie DoUb said his debut album titled Lingo can be found online on various streaming platforms including Deezer, Amazon, Spotify and Apple Music.

The young artiste rose to stardom after his smash record 90s which featured Vic Jita, Luchie Shiki and Jay Dumza dominated charts such as the Skyz Metro FM’s Top 20 for multiple weeks. Besides the 90s track, Rockie DoUb has been churning out hits annually including Hillsides and Life of the Party.

The rapper has worked with various musicians including the Mambo hit-maker Asaph, Soko Matemai, Tha Dawg, Jay Dumza, Phanas, Jaytweny8, Freaks and Larynx earning him nominations at the Zim Hip Hop Awards (2020) and Skyz Metro Music Awards (2018 and 2019). — @mthabisi_mthire.
