SANTA Claus, the North Pole elves and fairies return to Bulawayo for the second time in as many years as SantaLand rolls into the city to charm children to mark the onset of the Christmas season.

After a successful run last year, SantaLand, from South Africa, will open its gates at ZITF Hall 5 to local enthusiasts on Saturday and will run until December 30. Festivities will start at midday, ending at 8PM daily.

Admission into SantaLand for a full on Christmas experience has been pegged at $5 for children while adults will be expected to pay $2.

Activities on each day include a visit to Santa’s Workshop, a visit to his Grotto (living quarters), meeting the three wise men, visiting the manger, taking a selfie with Santa, singing along to Christmas carols, shopping at the Christmas gift centre and visiting the wishing well and dropping a coin for a wish.

The event’s spokesperson, Thando Phiri, said Santa Land was a chance for children to enjoy and appreciate the festive season with Santa Claus collecting goods for the less privileged.
