FAST-RISING Bulawayo songstress Novuyo Seagirl has expressed her excitement about sharing the stage with music greats; Jah Prayzah, Winky D, ExQ and Takura at the ZITF shutdown gig next week.

The show taking place next Saturday will be held at Queens Sports Club.

The singer, whose AEIOU song won the Best House Music Song at the inaugural Star FM Awards, said she was excited and nervous at the same to be sharing the stage with some of the biggest Zimbabwean musicians.

“I’m really excited that I’ll be sharing the stage with amazing artistes like ExQ, Winky D, Jah Prayzah and Takura. These are some of the people that I look up to so it’s going to be a memorable experience,” she said.

To her credit, Seagirl is the only female artiste on the lineup, something which shows she is doing something right.

“I’m the only female artiste on the line-up which is also nerve-wrecking, but I promise to do my best and give the crowd a great performance.”

Most importantly, Seagirl hopes to learn how to conduct herself when performing, from the established artistes.

“It’s at such shows that rising artistes like me get to learn from the experienced artistes who’ve been in the industry for a very long time. I also hope to get pointers about the industry from them,” she said.

For now, the AEIOU hit-maker is working on her album Love Bitter and Sweet which she said is almost complete. She hopes to release it in August.

“In this project, I’m experimenting with various sounds including reggae, soul, deep houz, soul houz and jazz so people should definitely expect a new sound from me.”

To add more flavour, Seagirl will be collaborating with several local artistes as well as two foreign artistes on this album.
