ZIMBABWEANS Daniel Msendami and Cleopas Dube’s Botswana-based side Jwaneng Galaxy will be playing another important Caf Champions League match this weekend when they take on Tanzanian giants Simba SC at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown on Saturday.
Msendami who has been a revelation for Galaxy said he is just enjoying himself and is happy that everything seems to be going his and his team’s way.
“We are well aware that we have another very difficult match this weekend against one of the biggest teams in Africa. Simba is not a team to be taken lightly. We are a group of players who always believe in themselves and once again we will be doing our best to be there for each other.
“For me it is obviously starting to be a bit difficult, people are starting to notice me and they are also starting to see footage of me playing hence they are now coming up with strategies to try and stop me, it was much easier when no one knew me. This is a sign that I should work harder and focus more on myself and try to help the team but most importantly, it is all about enjoying these memorable moments,” said Msendami.
The former Bosso youngster has had a flying start in all competitions for the Botswana champions. He is the team’s top scorer in the league with six goals and second best in the league. He also played a significant role to help his side qualify for the continent’s Premier competition as he scored the only goal in the final preliminary round match against South African giants Orlando Pirates, the goal went a long way in helping his team qualify for the tournament’s group stages.
Jwaneng Galaxy have three points and are the leaders in Group B after stunning three time champions and last year’s finalists Wydad Casablanca 1-0 at their home ground. They will also have to play Ivory Coast giants Asec Mimosas, another team in the tough group.
