South Africa announces preliminary squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

SOUTH Africa head coach Hugo Broos has named a 36-member preliminary squad for next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe

Among the notable names listed in the preliminary squad are Themba Zwane, Percy Tau, Rowen Williams, Evidence Makcopa and Teboho Mokoena.

The final 23-man squad is set to be announced in the coming days.

The South African senior men’s national team face Nigeria’s Super Eagles away from home in Uyo on Friday, 7 June 2024 before they face Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on 11 June.
