THE music industry in Southern Africa is expected to fire up as Zimbabwean musician Prince Joel Nyoni and South African artistes Lunga Duma and Mpho Mash have collaborated on a track titled Nguwe.

The love single laced with Afro-pop sounds was produced by Prince Joel Nyoni of Bird Entertainment with vocals done by Lunga Duma and Mpoe Mash of Broken Stool Media in South Africa.

The bass was done by Stotbass, guitar by Samuzik with drums done by Erastus Nleya.
The track will be released on a number of digital platforms next Friday.
Nyoni, who has in the past worked with the likes of Berita, said the track is meant to cement the idea of creating relationships with artistes from other countries.

“Basically, through the track we are talking about love and it’s beauty so the track seeks to showcase the power of collaborations from artistes with different backgrounds and roots.

“The song came about after having met Duma a couple of years ago during my stint as a musician based in South Africa where I worked with the likes of Mzwakhe Mbuli among other big artistes over there,” said the Ngoma Ingoma member.

Nyoni said the track has come of age as it was created ten years ago but was not released to the public.
He said the will coincide with the launch of a record label Bird Entertainment, which will cater for local artistes.

“So initially this track I produced in 2011 and we only got to remake it recently after Lunga Duma approached me and reminded me about a song we once touched a few years back and never got to release.

“I believe it was a blessing in disguise how it took this long. I’m glad we get to launch Bird Entertainment with a collabo featuring my SA fellow artistes,” said Nyoni.
Nyoni said fans should expect fireworks with their ultimate goal being to encourage people to love each other unconditionally.— @mthabisi_mthire
