TALEN Vision chairman Elton Sinyosi has dismissed word that has been circulating that suggested that the club disbanded saying they are going to compete in the forthcoming 2024 Zifa Southern Region Division One League.

The Filabusi-based outfit is one of the seasoned campaigners in the Southern Region Division League that has ZPC Hwange, Mainline, Jordan Sinnot, Ratanang, Bosso90, Casmyn, Ciwu, Ajax Hotspurs and Adachi among other clubs.

“Our position is that we are going to compete in the 2024 Division One League. We have also heard about the false rumuor that we have disbanded. It’s not true, we have been training for the last two weeks at Milton High School and yesterday (Sunday), we played a friendly match against Ajax Hotspurs in Mpopoma,” said Sinyosi.

Talen Vision are under the guidance of Golding Dube and Gatsi Mukombwe.

Last season, the club, which enjoys sponsorship from Trukumb Mining Private Limited, played second fiddle to eventual winners of the Southern Region Division One League Arenel Movers and ZPC Hwange who finished as the first runners-up.

Arenel Movers concluded the season without defeat to earn the sole region’s ticket to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

TelOne are the team that got promoted from Zifa Central Region while Chegutu Pirates were the champions in the Zifa Northern Region League.

Zifa Central Region

The country’s football mother body is yet to make a decision on which club gets promoted from the Eastern Region League amid allegations of match-fixing.

The region had initially confirmed Lithium Boys, Bikita Minerals as champions but Tenax has come into the picture to argue their case.

Sinyosi added their academy teams will remain housed in the mining town of Filabusi.

He added: “Our academy that is made up of Under-13, 15 and 17 teams will remain based in Filabusi. However, this year we are not going to have our Division Three side.

“Our other academy, Ivinar Park, which is an educational one, is still running and shaping futures in Filabusi. It’s an educational academy that also offers sporting activities to our students. Every Friday, we drive the pupils to Bulawayo where they come to take part in swimming, basketball, cricket and football activities.”
