The Khama conundrum: Will it be Dynamos, Manica Diamonds or Cape Town? Or has Billiat made his choice?

KHAMA Billiat is a man who has to make a tough choice. The former Warriors midfielder, who once dazzled fans with his skills and goals, is now facing a dilemma. He has to decide whether to join Dynamos, the local giants or to look for another club locally or abroad.

Billiat’s career has been full of twists and turns. He shocked everyone when he turned down a contract extension from South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the 2022-23 season. He then went missing for months, leaving Chiefs in the dark as to his whereabouts. He resurfaced at SuperSport United in January, but he was not signed by the club. He only spent a day at Matsatsantsa before leaving.

Now, Billiat is reportedly on the verge of joining Dynamos, the team he supported as a boy. This is a surprising move, as many expected him to pursue a career in a bigger league. Billiat has a lot of experience in the African Safari, having won the CAF Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016. He also played for Ajax Cape Town, where he made a name for himself.

However, Billiat’s move to Dynamos is not a done deal yet. He has also received an offer from Manica Diamonds, who are willing to pay him more than Dynamos — they have dangled a US$20 000 signing on-fee and a US$3 000 monthly salary. Dynamos are offering less and in installments.

He also has interest from a club in Cape Town, where he still has fans and friends. Billiat has to weigh his options carefully and decide what is best for him.

If he joins Dynamos, he will have a chance to revive his career and help the Glamour Boys win the league title for the first time since 2014. He will also represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup, where he can showcase his talent and expertise. He will follow the footsteps of Agent Sawu and Takesure Chinyama, who joined DeMbare at the twilight of their careers and made an impact.

If he joins Manica Diamonds, he will earn more money and play for a team that is ambitious and competitive. He will also avoid the pressure and expectations that come with playing for Dynamos. However, he will miss the opportunity to play in front of the multitudes of supporters that stars of Billiat’s nature crave.

If he joins a club in Cape Town, he will return to a city he is familiar and comfortable with. He will also have a chance to play in a bigger league and attract more attention. However, he will risk losing his connection with his home country and fans.

Whatever Billiat decides, he has to do it soon. He has been out of action for too long and he needs to get back on the pitch. He is still a talented and valuable player, who can make a difference for any team. He just has to find the right one.

Meanwhile, Kuda Mahachi is expected to start training with Dynamos next week while his contract is being negotiated. Mahachi recently parted ways with Ghana Premiership team Medeama after only five months.

He has been struggling to get a club since he was accused of child abuse, which led to the termination of his deal with SuperSport.

He was later cleared of any wrongdoing by the courts.

He only played a few months in Ghana before he was released.
