THE Sanganai-Hlanganani World Tourism Expo taking place in Bulawayo presents a distinct chance to forge business synergies and broaden the regional tourism industry, a South African tour operator has said.

KM Tours manager Mr Mfundo Mkhabela from Mpumalanga province in South Africa, who is participating under the South Africa banner, expressed his keenness to extend his operations into Zimbabwe.

Mr Mkhabela told Business Chronicle that he anticipates forming partnerships with local operators.

“I am here in Bulawayo to venture into the Zimbabwe tourism market. I see a big potential. I want to have packages for people to visit South Africa as we want to mix business with tourism,” said Mr Mkhabela.

South Africa has 10 operators exhibiting.

The 17th edition of the exhibition is held under the theme, “Tourism and Peace” and the official opening and awards ceremony will be held tomorrow (Friday).

The expo is a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA).
