THE Zimbabwe Water Polo Board of Control (ZWPBC) has named the Under-17 and Under-19 boys’ teams that will represent the country at the Schools Water Polo South Africa (SWPSA) tournament in East London from December 13-17.

Tyron Jardine will coach the Under-17 team, while Craig Kesson will take care of the Under-19s.

Players will be given a chance to earn a place in the Under-14 and Under-15 boys’ squads after a tournament slated for this Friday and Saturday at Christian Brothers’ College in Bulawayo.

Last month the water polo board announced four girls’ teams (Under-14, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19) made up of 15 players each that will tour South Africa in December.

Danille Drage was named the Under-14 girls’ team coach and Rob Hammond will coach the Under-15 girls’ side. Brendon Brider and Sarah Shonfield were named coaches for the Under-17 and Under-19 girls’ teams respectively.

The SWPSA tournament is one of the largest schools’ water polo tournaments in the world comprising 110 teams that range from the Under-13 to Under-19 in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.
