The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has announced changes regarding Fifa’s Football Agent Regulations, which will come into effect in 2025.
As part of Fifa’s ongoing efforts to increase accessibility and inclusivity in football governance, the global football body has introduced an online format for its football agent licensing exam. These changes are expected to streamline the process and encourage broader participation.
Beginning in 2025, Fifa’s Football Agent Examinations will be held only once a year, with the scheduled exam date set for June 18, 2025. Aspiring agents will be able to apply for the examination from March 4 to April 17, 2025. This new timeline provides ample opportunity for candidates to prepare for the examinations while adhering to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
The decision to implement an online exam follows extensive consultations with Fifa’s Football Agent Working Group. The revised examination process removes the need for candidates to attend in person, significantly reducing travel costs and logistical challenges.
The move to an online format is expected to make the licensing process more accessible for aspiring agents across the globe, encouraging wider participation and helping to eliminate previous barriers to entry.
Zifa has expressed support for these changes, recognising that they align with Fifa’s broader goals of enhancing transparency and accessibility within football.
“We are pleased to see the implementation of these changes, which reflect Fifa’s commitment to modernising and professionalising the football agent landscape,” said Zifa in a statement yesterday.
With the examination now online, Fifa hopes to make the licensing process more inclusive, offering individuals from all regions a fair opportunity to enter the football agent profession.
