Zimbabwe needs to invest more in technology to boost tourism growth Mr Kwakye Donkor

THE chief executive of Africa Tourism Partners from Ghana, Mr Kwakye Donkor, has said Zimbabwe needs to invest in technology as one of the critical infrastructure needed for development of tourism and other sectors.

Speaking in a panel discussion on Infrastructure Development at the Zimbabwe MICE Masterclass at the Zimbabwe Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo Mr Donkor said AI is doing a lot of market data analysis and can also help in hosting hybrid events and bridging bridges.

MICE is a type of travel business that involves Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions, being implemented by the tourism sector as a strategy and remedies that has potential to turnaround the country’s tourism industry.

“One infrastructure that Zimbabwe needs to invest in is technology. There is need to make sure there is hybrid events. You got to have infrastructure that will cater fir for health, security and trade issues,” he said.

The MICE Masterclass is the first on the annual 17th edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo programme.
