Zimbabwe’s President Mnangagwa congratulates Namibia’s President-Elect Nandi-Ndaitwah

HARARE, Zimbabwe – Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended his congratulations to Namibia’s President-elect, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, following her historic election as the first female leader of Namibia.
In an official letter dated December 4, 2024, President Mnangagwa lauded Nandi-Ndaitwah’s victory as a testament to the trust and confidence the Namibian people have in her leadership to safeguard the liberation heritage and drive socio-economic transformation.
“As you assume your new role, I am confident that the excellent relations between our two countries will continue to grow from strength to strength,” President Mnangagwa wrote, affirming Zimbabwe’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties for mutual benefit.
The Zimbabwean leader also conveyed his wishes for President-Elect Nandi-Ndaitwah’s success, good health, and peace for the people of Namibia. President-Elect Nandi-Ndaitwah’s election marks a significant milestone in Namibia’s political history, symbolising progress in regional gender representation and leadership.
This comes amid growing cooperation between Zimbabwe and Namibia, particularly in areas of trade, development, and shared liberation history.
