WORSHIP Addicts founder and lead man Takesure “Zamar” Ncube sent the South African audience into a frenzy on Friday and Saturday night after performing two songs during the live recording of Joyous Celebration’s Joyous 19 at Grace Bible Church in Soweto.

Zamar, as he is popularly known in the music circles, becomes the third Zimbabwean to feature in the South African gospel outfit’s album after Eric Moyo who joined this year and Mkhululi Bhebhe of the Wasara wasara fame who joined in 2012.

Zamar performed two songs Kuregerera in advance and Agere pachigaro much to the delight of the crowd.

Speaking from South Africa, Zamar who was asked to come back on stage after his performance on both recordings on Friday and Saturday, said he was humbled by the response he received from the audience in Soweto.

“The Joyous Celebration live recording concert went well. The crowd called me to come back on stage twice on Friday and Saturday night, a sign that shows how God has been gracious to me. His grace was evident and I was humbled and surprised at the same time that people who don’t understand Shona kept asking for more,” said Zamar.

Zamar’s appearance at the recording of Joyous 19 this year was a one-time experience as he was only appearing as a guest performer.

He said that though it was tempting for him to relocate and join the group permanently, he was heading back home to continue with business at his Worship Addicts.

“I’m happy that I featured at Joyous Celebration’s recording concert this year. It should be clear that I’m not joining them as I’ve a role to play at Worship Addicts. I can’t baby dumb my God-given vision,” he said.

Zamar, who was impressed by Eric Moyo’s performance during the concert, said featuring in the live recording of Joyous 19 has been an eye opener.

“The South Africans work hard, I’ve learnt that no sweat no sweets, no pain no gain.

“I was impressed by Eric’s performance during the live recording. Eric represented Zimbabwe very well,” said Zamar.
