Kenyans attended a candlelight vigil on Tuesday for the 148 victims of the Garissa University College deadly attack

Nairobi — The University Academic Staff Union UASU says that 160 students of the Garissa University College are yet to be accounted for. The union said yesterday that they had reports that the 160 have yet to be located nearly a week after the attack last week Thursday.

The government had said that it had rescued all students who were in the university premises on the day of the attack which saw 148 people killed.

However, there were a number of parents and families at the Chiromo mortuary who had said that they were yet to identify their next of kin yesterday and now UASU claim that there are still plenty missing from the attack.

In a statement, the union said that it hopes the government will take action to look for the missing 160.This far, 122 of the 148 killed in the attack in Garissa have been identified by their next of kin. — News24
