Bulawayo Amateur Football Association (Bafa) chairman Chris Mtungwazi has urged all the teams in the league to pay up their affiliation fees.
Mtungwazi said this at a board meeting in the city yesterday. He said the league had made an impressive growth in terms of numbers of teams playing in the league. There are now 16 teams, eight more than last year.

“League participation has improved with eight more teams joining the race this season with a total of 16 teams playing now, but the biggest problem is with some teams keeping up with their affiliation fees,” said Mtungwazi.

The meeting was to finalise preparations for the 57th edition of the annual Bafa Townshend and Butcher tournament which is set to start on a date that is still to be confirmed.

This year’s edition of the tournament will see the knockout stages being moved to other venues due to the closure of the Barbourfields outside grounds in preparation for the upcoming Region Five Games in December.
