Boozy Whitestone Lollipops

ALCOHOL is something we usually associate with drinks — but the tides have changed and now they come in the form of candy.
Always seeking to outdo himself, James Muparutsa the man the world fondly know as the Liquid Chef, Mixologist Extraordinaire this week shared a sweet recipe with me, one that will ignite your inner child.

I, among the many of you, are familiar with alcohol infused  candy such as alcohol chewable candy treats (better known as alcohol gummies), but I did not expect to come across lollipops.

The Liquid Chef happened to be in town this weekend and shared his ornate recipe.

He was in the City of Kings for the African Distillers (AFDIS) Golf Day prize giving and cocktail party.

“I want to share with you something new, something I have been working on and I am sure it will be quite a popular mélange with  the ladies. I call it the Whitestone Boozy Lollipop. Naturally I am sure you know we have a line of gins and our flagship right now is Whitestone. It comes in different exciting flavours and you can make different types of exciting cocktails with it,” said the Liquid Chef.

The recipe he gave me is as follows:

Ingredients
330ml Minute Maid Tropical
35ml Lime cordial
Kiwi and cucumber slices
Pomegranate & Granadilla pulp
70ml Whitestone Gin

“Mix all ingredients in a jar except the fruit. Add a slice of either kiwi or cucumber in the lollipop moulds. And pour the mixed liquid. Thereafter add the granadilla and pomegranate. Place moulds in the freezer for 3 to 4 hours and voila, you have your boozy lollipops . . . perfect for a hot day,” said the Liquid Chef.

This is a sure fun way to spend the weekend with friends slurping on fruity, and boozy iced lollipops.

Till next week!
