SEVEN cars and three bikes have registered for the last motoring event of the year, the Three-Hour Endurance race set for Bulawayo on Saturday.

The country’s top drivers are expected to compete at the contest that will be held at the Bulawayo Motorsport Park formerly Victoria Falls Road Circuit.

Multiple motor racing contests winner Denzil Bhana who will compete in his red Ford Escort was the first participant to register for the event that is expected to attract thousands of motoring fanatics.

Bhana who finished third in the 2021 Three Hour Endurance Race is hoping for an improved performance at this year’s edition.

“I’m a multiple saloon car champion with over 25 years in the motorsport,” said Bhana.

Zane Shah, who drives a Toyota Conquest is the third entry in Three Hour Endurance after the pair of Ian Gutherless and his wife Kirsten who will be driving a Mitsubishi Lancer.

About racing in the Three Hour Endurance Race, Kirsten said: “I’m new to the track. All the guys on the track have welcomed me so nicely and all their help is very much appreciated.”

Melissa Watt who drives a Datsun 1200 has also registered for the weekend meet and said she’s looking forward to the race.
Dino Khamal who drives a Datsun 1200GX, the duo of Craig Archenoul and Phil Archenoul as well as Craig Goby who will compete with his BMW, complete the list of participants who have registered for the Saturday race.

In the One Hour Motorbikes Endurance race, the first competitor to register was Ian Gutherless with his Kawasaki Zx250r.
Ian returns to the track having last raced in 2019.

“It’s my first time to race in the 250 class in the one hour endurance race having been used to the superbike class. I will also be sharing the Three Hour drive with my wife Kirsten in the No84 Mitsubishi Lancer,” said Ian.

The racers who have registered for the bikes race are Garreth Rousseau who rides a Kawasaki Zx259r as well as the pair of Terry Albery and Jan Nel who share the Megelli 250cc. -@ZililoR
