Chief Jahana succumbed to blood pressure related complications on Tuesday.
His body will be taken to Gokwe this afternoon, where he will be buried tomorrow.
Matabeleland South Governor and Resident Minister Angelina Masuku said Chief Jahana died at Premier Hospital in Hillside, Bulawayo where he was admitted two weeks ago.
Chief Jahana and an estimated 8 000 of his people recently returned to Matabeleland South from Gokwe and were resettled at Gwamanyenga area.
“We are in pain following the loss of Chief Jahana, what is paining the most is that he had just arrived in this area and we were still getting to know him better,” said Governor Masuku.
She said Chief Jahana had good relations with the leadership he found in the district and the province upon his return.
“We lived with him very well,” said Governor Masuku.
She passed her condolences to the Jahana family as well as people of Insiza.
Zanu-PF Matabeleland South province chairperson Cde Andrew Langa said the death of Chief Jahana had left a void especially in Insiza North. Cde Langa is also the MP for Insiza North.
“When he came here we were happy that the people now had a chief after so many years, but he has gone too soon,” said Cde Langa.
He said although the chief was ill, everyone was hopeful he would recover.
“When we heard that he was admitted to hospital we just assumed that he would recover soon, but now we are saddened by his untimely death,” said Cde Langa.
He said the Disitrict Admistrator’s office was organising transport for people who wish to attend the burial of the chief.
Mourners are gathered at his Magwegwe home in Bulawayo.
