THE Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe (HAZ) says its members have enough facilities to accommodate local and foreign exhibitors during the upcoming Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) 2017.

This year’s edition of ZITF will be held in Bulawayo from 25 to 29 April under the theme “Harnessing Linkages for Industrial Development”.

HAZ Bulawayo chairperson, Mrs Faith Makamure, said tourism and hospitality players in the city were more than prepared for this year’s prime business showcase.

“We are very much prepared for this event as you know that it is a big event not in Bulawayo but internationally. We want to make sure that people always find accommodation so as to have a good stay in the city,” said Mrs Makamure.

She said her association was working on ensuring that all guests find proper accommodation and that service providers render quality service.

“HAZ has never failed people when it comes to providing them with accommodation. Each year when it comes to ZITF we make sure that sufficient accommodation is there for more people to stay,” said Mrs Makamure.

She told Business Chronicle that bookings have already started and expressed excitement over prospects of business for the city.

“At this year’s Trade Fair we expect more tourists and we want to give them five star treatment when it comes to accommodation. We don’t want to disappoint them since we have never disappointed them before,” she said.
According to ZITF’s Company board chairperson, Ms Ruth Ncube, foreign participation is encouraging with a total of 14 countries having confirmed their participation. These include Botswana, China, Ethiopia, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and Turkey.
