I know most of us enjoy watching science fiction movies or series, a genre of speculative fiction that typically deals with imaginative and futuristic concepts such as advanced science and technology, space exploration, time travel, parallel universes, and extraterrestrial life.

It’s a genre that you can get lost in, one that invokes your inner child . . .
Some weeks ago, I met a very good friend of mine, Tyson Moyo, well that is when we talk about alcohol.

Back to business, we all have fantasies and superheroes we admire and sometimes, imagine ourselves turning into or meeting.

My past weekend was quite intriguing as I happened to taste a cocktail inspired by one of my childhood heroes — the Incredible Hulk. Yes, I did once imagine myself turning into a huge, gigantic, green, irradiated, mutated humanoid monster with incredible strength and an inability to control his rage.

Of course, the Hulk is sometimes characterised as hyper-aggressive and brutal, other times as cunning, brilliant, and scheming.

Anyway, before this article turns into a green and rage-filled document, let’s get to the subject.
Here I am with no plan in mind, bored with a huge stack of laundry. I decided, heck I am not going to do this; I want to have fun so I decided to get into town. While in town I conveniently bumped into Tyson, who happens to be a bartender-cum cocktail genius.

With a cup in hand and a backpack hanging from his shoulder, I knew this was my ticket to fun.
“What’s in the cup?” I chirped. A question I knew the answer would be alcohol fused.
His reply was “The Hulk”.

“The Hulk?” I quizzed. With a natural sigh and the obvious knowing that I wanted to see and taste the concoction he was carrying, he passed the styrofoam cup. The contents were immersed in ice and green!
Before I took a swig, I peered at him before he gave me a gesture to sip.

It was an electric feeling in my mouth that sent my taste buds dancing, but at the same time, sleeping. Naturally and obviously, I asked what I was drinking.

Tyson responded: “My guy, this is what we call the Incredible Hulk. It’s a combination of Hennessy and Blue Curacao. Hennessy has a strong brown colour, while Blue Curacao . . . you know where I am going. Mix the two and you get a green colour, hence the name Incredible Hulk. It’s nothing fancy, just simple but expensive,” he said signalling back the cup.

I then found my high for the day and stuck with Tyson, who unlike his namesake Mike, isn’t a bulky and rage-filled person, but a man who loves making people laugh and drink.

There really is no complication to the recipe or any directions to making it. It’s all about the ingredients, which I believe are fun, but expensive.
