Lady Chevrons in quadrangular series

THE Lady Chevrons are set to take part in a quadrangular series involving the United States, Thailand and hosts United Arab Emirates as part of their preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier to be held in Abu Dhabi next month.

The quad series will take place at the ICC academy in Dubai from September 10-13.

Zimbabwe will face the United States on September 10 before playing against the United Arab Emirates on September 12.

They will conclude the series with a tie against Thailand.

The sides will use the series for the World Cup qualifier that will see Zimbabwe face United Arab Emirates, Thailand and Papua New Guinea in group B.

Group A comprises the United States, Ireland, Scotland and Bangladesh.

The top two teams from the qualifier tournament will progress to the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to be played in South Africa.

The qualifier will be the fifth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup qualification pathway.

Already the Lady Chevrons have been in Bengaluru, India in preparation for the qualifier.

The Zimbabwe women’s side was in India for 18 days and played T20 matches in the process.
