TALKING of old horses reuniting to show the young ones how it is done.

Legendary musicians Chase Skuza, Obadia Matulana and Sizwangendaba Ncube of Kwejani Band are set to share the stage for back-to-back Easter shows in Dete, Victoria Falls, Hwange, Binga, and Somabhula outside Gweru.

The Easter Blitz shows are organised by Lucky Dube, better known as Dr Lux, a musician who is the chairperson of Artists4ED for Midlands and composed and played songs dedicated to President Mnangagwa during the campaigns towards the August 2023 harmonised elections.

While for Christians the Holy Week starts with Easter Thursday, for music lovers it will be music galore at Dete Beerhall this Thursday before the big show at Chinotimba Beerhall on Good Friday.

On Saturday the show will be at GK Sports Bar in Hwange and on Sunday at Kupakunashe Bottle Store in Somabhula, Midlands.

On 5 April Mlibizi Hotel will be the venue for the show before another one the following day at Binga Centre.

The Easter music galore will end in Esigodini on 12 April at Athens.

Dr Lux said the line-up includes Chase Skuza, Madewa and Abantwana Bensindiso, Makanika Sibanda and Banyayi, Felix Dube and Dube Express, Obadia Matulana, Sizwangendaba Ncube and Kwejani Banda, Rangarirai, Boomslang, Carlton Ncube, Blaqfreak, Alvosta, and others who will be added per venue.

Some will not travel to perform at all the shows.

“We just need to do something as artists to uplift ourselves. No one assists us so we need to be out there and share what we get. So we have got shows on the line and they are confirmed,” said Dr Lux.

He said the shows also seek to raise awareness against various kinds of abuse including drug, child, and women abuse.

He said he had to settle for old artistes who have a better understanding of societal values and music and have more to give to the community.

“I call upon everyone to come on board as we campaign against drugs, and all forms of abuse,” he said.
