facing armed robbery charges was on Thursday further remanded to next Tuesday for allegedly harbouring wanted suspects at her Chitungwiza house.
Her lawyer Obey Shava of Mbidzo, Muchadehama and Makoni did not attend the court session as he was reported to be committed with other matters at the High Court.
Ururu-Madondo (32) also submitted that she was assaulted by some police officers and had some of her goods stolen. She is facing charges of obstructing the course of justice. Ururu-Madondo’s husband, Patrick Madondo, her brother-in-law Learnmore Madondo, and brother Peter Ururu are in remand prison on a slew of armed robbery charges. Mr Walter Chikwanha from the Chief Magistrate’s Office in Harare remanded her out of custody on US$50 bail. Ururu-Madondo is based at the Harare Magistrate’ Civil Court. Public Prosecutor Mrs Joyce Fusire revealed that on February 11 this year, detectives from CID Marondera raided number 31015 Unit B Extension in Chitungwiza were Ururu-Madondo resides. They were looking for Peter Ururu, Denis Nyakudya and Patrick Madondo whom they wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Macheke on February 9. The detectives had been told by Learmore Madondo that the suspects lived at the Unit B house and found them hiding yet Ururu-Madondo had told them they were not at home. – CR.
