AMAGAGASI striker Lungile Nyathi will be presented with the Nokel Security Southern Region Soccer League April Top Goal Scorer award when the Victoria Falls side takes on Casmyn at Turk Mine tomorrow.

Nyathi banged in three goals in four games for the resort town club in April to bag the monthly gong that comes with $150.

The 25-year-old striker, who won the same accolade in May 2015, has been in fine form for Amagagasi, who top the league table with 18 points from six games.

Nokel Security director Kenneth Mhlophe said he is happy that an out of Bulawayo player has won the award.

“This is good for the game because in the past, we’ve seen Bulawayo players dominating such accolades, but it is good to have someone from as far as Victoria Falls winning. As a company, we operate right up to Victoria Falls and we will be presenting the award to the boy on Saturday at Turk Mine. We will continue supporting sport,” said Mhlophe.

Nyathi beat his teammate Nhlanhla Ndlovu, Bulawayo Chiefs’ duo of Joseph Mutambiranwa and Tatenda Chikwene, Black Boots’ Tendai Zaza, Ray Lunga of Bosso 90, Makomo’s Barnabus Mutimba and Thulani Mazvizo, who banged in two goals each.

Ndlovu and Nyathi are expected to form Amagagasi’s frontline for tomorrow’s match as they seek to stretch their 100 percent record to seven games.

They are five points clear of second placed Bulawayo Chiefs and can extend the lead to eight points should they win against Casmyn since Chiefs are inactive due to injuries their players sustained in a road accident last week.

Amagagasi spokesman Samuel Sibanda is confident of collecting maximum points tomorrow.

“If we play the way we have been doing, I’ve no doubt that we will get a positive result. It will not be an easy game, but we’re just going there to enjoy our game and make sure that we travel back home smiling,” said Sibanda.

Bantu Rovers can move into second position should they beat Ntabazinduna at Luveve Stadium. The former Premiership side has won four consecutive games.

Perennial campaigners ZPC Hwange will be involved in a derby against ZRP Hwange, while fifth placed Bosso 90 are inactive as they have played their scheduled fixture against ZRP Bulawayo.
