BULAWAYO songstress Sandra “Sandy” Ndebele will finally launch her seventh album – Izenzo, with a dinner at the Large City Hall next month. The album that features Jah Prayzah, Jeys Marabini and South African group The Teddy Bears, had its launch stalled last year because Ndebele’s quest to use the Large City Hall for free was turned down by the Bulawayo City Council who cited financial constraints.

As a result, the musician had to source funds to pay for the venue, which she successfully did.

The popular dance queen said she would have a live DVD recording during the album launch.

“I’ll hold a live DVD recording of the new album as I’ve been at the gym since November preparing for this event.

“I’ve lost a lot of weight as I’m getting my body into shape,” Sandy said.

Izenzo CDs as well as her previous albums will be available at the launch for those who may want to buy.

Individuals will be expected to part with $40 to attend the dinner album launch.

“The album is for everyone as it’s a mixture of a lot of genres. It features Jah Prayzah, Jeys Marabini, Nashie of the Chibhorane fame and a South African kwaito house group The Teddy Bears who were under the famous DJ Cleo’s mentorship at one time,” Sandy said.

The artiste, who rarely hosts sophisticated events for her album launches, said she decided to go big with this album because she felt it was time for her to do something of substance in the music industry.

“I’m confident that the album will do well in the market and on the airwaves. That’s why I decided to go big and hold a proper launch with a dinner,” she said.

Thirty-three 10-seat tables have been sold out of the 90 tables available.
