Radio and television personality Tinopona “Tin Tin” Katsande is now a mother. The former Studio 263 actress and ZiFM Stereo host, known to many as Joice Huni, gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday. She and the father of the baby, Virimai Chigariro, have since named him Yambuko Nokutendaishe, which means crossing over with the grace of God.

Tin Tin had initially been told by doctors that she could not conceive due to endometriosis, a gynaecological condition that causes cells from the uterine lining to flourish outside the uterine cavity, causing one to be infertile.

She overcame the condition by undergoing several treatment options, leading a healthier lifestyle and praying.

“I suffered all my life with endometriosis and was told I was medically unable to have children because my uterine lining was so badly damaged from the aggression of the endometriosis. Medically, the doctors were correct, but God had another plan altogether and well, here I’m today,” Tin Tin said in a post on her Facebook page on Tuesday.

The TV personality who endured nine arduous months of pregnancy where she battled endometriosis fibroids said: “At 5:03AM yesterday morning, “I officially entered the next remarkable stage in my life’s journey — motherhood. With my husband Virimai and my best friend Belinda urging me on through the seven hours of labour as my birthing partners, baby boy Yambuko Nokutendaishe entered our lives at a bouncing tall handsome 3,1kg.”

“Today I witnessed perfection, pure and untainted, undiluted with no preservatives, just the work of God in all his glory.

“I held my miracle and I can’t begin to express how God is so real in my life. I’ll praise him all the days of my life.”

She also thanked her husband, friends and family for supporting her during the pregnancy.

“I’ll never be afraid to speak of God’s awesomeness in my life. I’ve a son and an amazing husband. I’ve the truest of friends and most encouraging family. I’m so blessed.

“Thank you for the prayers, encouragement, best wishes and kind thoughts throughout my nine-month journey. Indeed it was a speedy and safe delivery.”

To celebrate the birth of her first baby, Tin Tin has turned a baby shower which was meant to be held this weekend in preparation of the baby’s arrival into a welcome party.

“I guess Yambuko decided he wasn’t missing his own party and arrived a tad bit earlier than expected. So now Tin Tin’s baby shower this Saturday is now Yambuko’s baby welcome. I can’t wait . . .”
