LONG-SERVING women’s football administrators Cecilia Mudzana and Elizabeth Langa will be vying for the national vice chairperson’s position during elections set for Harare on Saturday.
The duo will seek to deputise either incumbent women’s football boss Mavis Gumbo or her challenger and businesswoman Miriam Sibanda while seven candidates will seek to fill the remaining four board member positions.

Inline Academy director Trust Kwembeya, for long an advocate for radical changes in the way women’s football is run in the country, has decided to also throw his hat into the fray as well as acting secretary-general Ben Mamoshe. They are both eyeing board member positions.

Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela last night said 42 delegates would cast their votes on Saturday.
“The delegates will be made up of provincial and regional representatives as well as members of the top-flight clubs,” said Gwesela.

Although not yet confirmed, the elections are most likely going to be held at the Zifa Village.
