SECOND placed Amagagasi’s faint hopes of catching up with table toppers Makomo FC wilted under the Hwange heat as they lost to fired up Prison Eagles at the Prison Ground on Sunday.Eric Sibanda’s brilliant goal left the Ndoga Nyoni coached team faced with the stark reality that there is never going to be a modern day football miracle for them to topple Makomo who are in red hot form.

The 10-point gap is just huge by any standard especially given Makomo’s dazzling form of late but Amagagasi will feel safe in second place as third placed ZRP Hwange are also faltering in their chase after they were given a shock 4-1 battering by lowly Brazil in an outstanding midweek fixture last week.

While Amagagasi were subjected to a baptism of fire at Prison Eagles, Makomo took the opportunity to race out of sight with a comfortable 2-0 win over Ingagula at their Chakona Stadium base.

Regular scorers Craven Tamirepi and Lawrence Khumbula were in a business mood as usual for the Tapela Ngwenya coached team.
