AMATUKS head coach Sammy Troughton has praised his first choice goalkeeper Washington Arubi after a string of sterling performances.

Most have been in the second half of the season.

“Arubi is a great goalkeeper in my view I believe he is one of the top three goalkeepers in the Absa Premiership now according to what he is doing for the team.

“He is experienced and knows very well how to communicate with his defenders. His advantage at the moment is that he has national teammate Partson Jaure who is also rock solid and a good reader of the game,” said Troughton.

The Pretoria University coach said Arubi is a hard worker and is always hungry for success.He also praised the former Dynamos defender Jaure who he said has since his arrival at the beginning of the season, cemented his position. He described the former Dynamos player as a rare talent.

Troughton said he is happy with Denver Mukamba’s present form and he is now a regular. Mukamba has scored two goals this season.

AmaTuks beat Tendai Ndoro and Tinashe Nengomasha’s Mpumalanga Black Aces 2-1 in a fiercely contested match at Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday.

Thabo Mnyamane and Ntombayithethi scored for the Pretoria based side and Ndoro scored the visitors’ consolation goal.
