BLACKROCK FC now top the Zifa Mat North Division 2A League after demolishing hapless Flying Elephants 6-0 at the Sports Pavilion on Saturday.

Erstwhile log leaders Hotspurs Leopards relinquished their position following a surprise 1-1 stalemate at home to Classic Luyando.

Macdonald Furau scored for Leopards, while Luyando replied through regular goal scorer Khonzani Nkomo.

Hwange Reserves returned with maximum points from Dete after an own goal by Terrence Kafunga gave them a 1-0 win over Iwisa Sparrows to remain in third place on the league table.

At Chakona ground, Ingagula FC turned on the power to dismiss Trumus Warriors 3-1, with Dananai Madziva, Austin Nhongo and Malvin Ngwenya finding the target for the winners and Honest Ncube grabbing the consolation.

Baobab Rovers played to a goalless draw against a stubborn OT Lions Academy.

In the Binga 2B League, Lunda FC consolidated their position at the top of the log after pipping Saba FC 2-1. Morris Mudenda and Obey Muleya scored for the log leaders, while Jonah Mumpande struck for Saba.

Second-placed Siavwandu thrashed Kamativi 3-0 through Given Munkombwe’s brace and a strike by Japhet Mudenda.

Chitondezyo Munsaka scored the only goal of the match as title dark horses Muchesu Bombers edged Sowa United.

Lubanda beat Mangani 2-1. Lost Shoko and Divilious Mumpande’s goals secured victory for Lubanda, with Eugene Mumpande scoring for Mangani.

The match between Siansali and Shooting Stars was postponed to a later date.
