THE Bantu Rovers and Caps United match set for Hartsfield Grounds this afternoon hangs in the balance after the Harare team reportedly failed to travel to Bulawayo last night due to a serious financial crisis that has hit the former Cup Kings.
Sources from the capital revealed that only 11 players turned up yesterday, ready to travel to Bulawayo as the rest demanded their dues from the club but by 7PM, those that turned up dispersed and went to their homes after being told that there was no money for fuel or accommodation.

It also emerged last night some board members who were in solidarity with the players stepped down as well.
Concerted efforts to get a comment from club president Twine Phiri or head coach Taurai Mangwiro were fruitless as their mobile phones had been switched off.
Phiri is also the PSL president.

However, Caps United National Supporters Association chairman Blessing Gumbo, while conceding that all was not rosy in their camp said the team will be able to fulfill this afternoon’s match.

“It’s not looking good indeed but we will be able to play tomorrow (today). After the match the team is not returning to Harare but will go straight to camp in Gweru ahead of the ZNA Charities match against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium on Saturday,” said Gumbo.

Premier Soccer League chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele said as far as they were concerned the match was on this afternoon.
“We are not aware of any problems at Caps United and as far as we are concerned the game is on,” said Ndebele last night.
