CHAPUNGU gaffer, John Nyikadzino said his side is approaching today’s match against Bantu Rovers at Ascot Stadium with caution as the visitors are capable of causing an upset. The airmen who are still on cloud nine after holding Dynamos to a 1-1 draw last Sunday, are still not safe from relegation and a win today will ease their worries.

The airmen are 10th with 33 points from 26 matches while Bantu Rovers need a Houdini act to avoid relegation as they have amassed 21 points from the same number of games.

Despite “Tshintsha Guluva” going down 1-4 to Shabanie Mine over the weekend, Nyikadzino has warned his charges against complacency.
“We are prepared for them and hoping to collect maximum points especially if you consider our position on the log standings. If you look at our performances we have been struggling against these so-called small teams and I have warned the boys not to underrate our opponents.

“Bantu Rovers are a good side with a good coach and their position on the log standings is not a true reflection of their performance and as such we are taking them seriously,” said

Nyikadzino who indicated that his side has a clean bill of health.
His counterpart Mandla Mpofu conceded that survival is beyond his side.

He said his charges are now playing for pride and will not do any team any favours.
“We are going there to collect maximum points just like we have been doing in all the previous games. That we have been relegated is now a reality to us but we have our pride and the game today will restore it if we acquit ourselves well,” he said.

A win against Chapungu at Ascot will see the Bulawayo based side exiting the league with their tails up as they would be the first team this season to beat the airmen in Gweru.
