HARARE giants Dynamos have lifted the suspension on their two senior players Murape Murape and Rodrick Mutuma following their training ground fist fight last week. The players were indefinitely suspended from all club activities on August 20 but with another duel with Highlanders in the $110,000 TM Supermarkets Challenge Cup coming up on September 6, Dynamos lifted the duo’s suspensions.

The boxing duel was allegedly over bonuses that led to an industrial action by Dynamos players. Mutuma, it is alleged wanted the players to get the $40 that was being offered by the club to all the players who were part of the Caps United game while Murape wanted the club to pay everyone.

“We met today and after deliberations we decided to lift the two players’ suspensions with immediate effect,” said club chairman Kenny Mubaiwa in a telephone interview from Harare yesterday.

He denied that the seven-day suspensions were lifted with the coming of Bosso to the capital in mind, saying instead the league has reached a crucial stage and therefore the club could not afford to let the issue distract them.

“It’s not about Highlanders, we have crucial matches coming up hence the decision. They have not even been training so their availability for the matches lies with the technical bench,” said Mubaiwa.

With the lifting of the suspensions, Highlanders are now almost certain to face their biggest tormentors in the blue and white camp, with Murape seemingly instilling the worst fear among the Bosso players.

However, regardless of the latest twist of events, the two players are automatically out of running for selection of the Soccer Stars of the Year.
The September 6 TM Supermarkets Challenge Cup match will be the fourth time that the two giants are meeting this season, all the previous duels going Dynamos’ way.

The PSL is yet to sanction the match but chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele said consultations are at an advanced stage.
“We are almost there with our consultations and very soon we will make public the official position,” said Ndebele.
