COTE D’IVORE former international Didier Drogba has revealed his oldest son Isaac, 16, had no intention to play for the West African country if he eventually turns a professional footballer.

The 36-year-old Chelsea striker has long disclosed his wishes to see his boy play football and also for his country, Ivory Coast.

“When I asked him (Isaac) which country he would like to play for as an international, he told me neither Ivory Coast nor France but England,” Drogba said on Sunday.

Isaac was born in Paris in 1999 and holds French nationality according to his father, but the family has lived in England since the striker joined the Blues from French club Marseille in 2004.

“I can’t tell why he doesn’t want to play for my country Ivory Coast if he had to choose a national team someday. That would be his choice,” he said.

Drogba retired from international duties in August 2014 amid tensions with the football federation.
