HARARE Zimdancehall artiste Emmanuel Manyeruke, popularly known as Guspy Warrior and Merciless thrilled Bulawayo fans at Club Forty40 on Saturday night.

Although Freeman could not make it for the show as expected, revellers did not feel shortchanged as the duo made up for his absence.

Guspy Warrior, who was performing at Club Forty40 for the first time, did not disappoint as he left fans asking for more after a whole night of entertaining them.

The show started shortly before midnight with chanter Merciless taking to the decks and leading the crowd in singing tracks such as Zimbabwe by Bob Marley and Red Rat’s Rise up Zimbabwe.

His chants and mixes kept people on their toes as he remixed songs from the 80s and gave them an original feel.

Soon after Merciless, Guspy Warrior took over and the crowd immediately rushed to the stage to get a clear view of him and dance to his tunes.

Guspy Warrior performed Summer Time, Handikwanise Kuzvitaura and Kungotsvoda. He was energetic on the stage.

His hit song Seunononga kept people glued to the stage.

One of the patrons at the night spot, Miriam Ndove said it was always good to have different artists coming over.

“I’ve never seen this young guy before and for a first timer at Forty40 I loved his energy even though the crowd wasn’t big enough but it didn’t bring him down and he sang till the end, “she said.

After the show, there was a street bash where revellers danced to music that was playing in their cars till the wee hours of the morning.

Club Forty40 resident DJ Mzoe said they wanted to continue with the culture of inviting artistes so as to build relations and also maintain the standards of the club.
